I suddenly discovered I had a lot of time. Life changed more than I could ever imagine, from caring for my husband near the end of life to learning how to care for myself.
Learning how to navigate a world, I hardly understood on my own would be a challenge. I remember one day sitting on the floor talking to him because the quiet in the house was unbearable; at the end of my one-sided conversation, I understood the hardest part was over. I could do this! I picked myself off the floor and said, I got this. From that point on, when I needed to quiet the noise in my head, I picked up my camera with the macro lens he gifted me and walked into the garden. The images you see before you are from hours and hours of practice and hundreds of thousands of photographs.
